| Adam Bielaszewski - Manager - Actuarial |
-
|
Nationality: Polish
Location: Wroclaw, Poland
Describe your current role
I am a manager on the actuarial team. My responsibilities include initiating,
supporting and supervising the work done by our actuarial analysts. My other
activities include managing client relationships and making presentations to
them. From time to time, I support the team with my IT capabilities, which
include VBA, SQL and PLSQL. I am also proficient in actuarial software such as
Axis. In addition, my prior actuarial experience with a leading insurer in
Poland helps me think from a client's perspective.
Describe in detail any important achievements?
My achievements are the result of the in-depth actuarial experience I have. I
have had an opportunity to train, mentor and coach other team members in life
insurance actuarial work. My prior experience has also helped me communicate
with my team in an effective fashion. At times it also gives me an opportunity
to influence how some client deliverables have to be interpreted and executed.
What do you like about your job?
The insurance business is usually specific to regional conditions and
the economy. We work with companies from all over the world. Thus, I have a
possibility to get to know the practical side of actuarial work in many regions
at top insurance companies. Further, in the era of KPOs, the way we integrate
technology and personal client interaction is truly astounding, particularly
for someone like me who has only worked with people who are right in front of
me. Last and but not least is the work culture and people at Irevna. Irevna
lets me operate in an open environment where people are willing to help.
What is your background?
I graduated from Wroclaw University of Technology in 2005. I studied math with
a specialty in statistic. In 2008, I completed the exams to become a certified
actuary in Poland. Before joining Irevna in 2009, I worked for three years
simultaneously at two medium-sized insurance companies, TU Europa and TU na
Zycie EUROPA, the P&C and life divisions of the Europa Group. I was
responsible for pricing, reserving reporting and the development of the life
business. I worked with bank assurance products, unit linked products,
endowments and structured products.

even though it might be obvious that there is a commercial benefit.

|
Nationality: South African
Location: Buenos Aires, Argentina
Describe your current role and what are your
responsibilities?
I am currently an associate for an analyst who covers the electronic supply
chain industry. Being an associate means that I need to keep my analyst
informed of any current news related to the industry, such as earnings
releases, technology conferences, and other important events. This requires
that I be on top of everything that happens to the covered companies and their
respective customers and suppliers.
I am also responsible for preparing all the models during earnings season and
entering the data points from the respective company's financial statements. My

notes, which describe the impact that the quarterly releases had on each
company.
Describe the various roles you have been involved in at

contracts.
Have you had the opportunity to work on a global project at Irevna?

| Jitendra Bhattad - Manager - Equity Strategy |
-
|
Nationality: Indian
Location: Chennai, India
Describe your current role. What does your role require and what are your responsibilities?
As a member of the equity strategy team, I study the drivers of the S&P500
index and provide medium-term trading ideas to investors. Our onshore analyst
expects us to work on new ideas from scratch and analyze raw data to draw
inferences about select topics. I have worked on a wide range of topics
including the impact of oil prices on markets, the effect of risk aversion on
currencies, and the impact of trade balance on currency pairs.
Unlike the more focused field or sector analysis roles in which most of my
colleagues work, my role as an equity strategy associate provides me with an
opportunity to utilize a broader understanding of subjects such as economics,
finance and quantitative analysis. With a good mix of practical and theoretical
challenges, I feel that this role gives me an all round understanding of the
equity domain.
Describe the previous roles you have been involved in?
Prior to joining the current team I was working with the derivatives team out
of London. My responsibilities as a member of the equity derivatives IT team
included developing templates to value and estimate risk attributes of complex
financial derivative products, understanding new releases in the trading
platform, and enhancing its capabilities. As a senior member of the team, I was
responsible for the team's output in India and training the entire team.
Describe in detail an important achievement?
During my earlier role in currency research, I was required to take over the
role from an associate who had worked for another vendor. I was provided three
months to learn many models. Within 6 weeks I became proficient in these models
and was providing all the updates to the analyst myself. The analyst
appreciated this achievement with a five out of five score in my customer
satisfaction survey
What do you like about your job?
The most challenging or interesting part of my job is that I am not restricted
to any one sector or one model. The requests that I get from the client are
usually quite varied. Furthermore, the freedom the analyst gives to explore new
ideas provides me with an immense learning opportunity.
Describe your background?
I graduated from Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University specializing
in chemical engineering, after which I went to complete my Postgraduate Diploma
in Management from Indian Institute of Management Bangalore with a focus on
finance. I then joined a leading bank as a market risk analyst studying its
foreign exchange, bullion, and credit portfolios. I also completed the
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Financial Risk Manager (FRM) examinations
and completed a 2-year diploma course in German.

special.

Indian
Location: Chennai, India
What does your role require and what are your
responsibilities?
I am working in the derivatives group at Irevna. My present role includes
template updating, trading system monitoring/support, and tool and viewing
template development for the trading desk. This requires a thorough
understanding of derivatives products, risk calculation and trading systems
along with a basic understanding of IT tools like VBA.
Another responsibility is to ensure the team's end result meets the high
quality standards set by Irevna and our client. Since we work directly with a
trader, my goal is gain more confidence and trust from the client so we expand

with the daily support work we perform is quite challenging. This role demands
a lot out of me with respect to understanding derivative products and their

delivered to a trader. Apart from this, there are always some new learning
opportunities which keep me interested in my work.
